About Galdrahestar / Finnstaðir
Galdrahestar / Finnstaðir is a family-run company that offers both horse riding tours and accommodation on our horse ranch near the town of Egilsstaðir, East Iceland. We offer four short riding tours, ideal for those wanting to experience the beautiful surroundings on the Icelandic horse.
Our holiday homes can sleep 6-7 persons and are therefore perfect for larger groups travelling together. They are clean, simple and surrounded by stunning nature and our farm animals. Our horses are around the property all year around and guests are welcome to interact with them. The holiday homes feature excellent views over the lake and mountains, with a good opportunity to get a glimpse of Northern Lights during wintertime.

OUR TOURS
River tour
1 HOUR
A great spot on Eyvindará and Lagarfljót and vibrant birdlife, beautiful views in all directions.
Forest tour
1 HOUR
Go along and into the woods, past beautiful water with lively birdlife. Suitable for when the is wind blowing.
Mountain tour
1 HOUR
Stunning mountain views and close proximity to beautiful Icelandic vegetation and streams.
Taglarétt
3-4 HOURS
A variety of landscapes and paths, beautiful birch forest, cross over rivers and a wonderful destination where you can eat lunch.
ACCOMMODATION
6-person house (on the left side)
3 bedrooms, one has a double bed, the other rooms have two single beds.
The house has a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside you will find a patio with outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities.
The house has made-up beds, towels, cleaning agents and a hairdryer. Good duvets, pillows, bedsheets and beds.
7-person house (on the right side)
3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Patio with a hot tub, outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities.
The house has a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside you will find a patio with outdoor furniture and barbecue facilities.
The house has made-up beds, towels, cleaning agents and a hairdryer. Good duvets, pillows, bedsheets and beds.
